Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to former police officer Brandon Tatum about what it’s really like to be a black police officer dealing with the black community, the impact that the defund the police movement has had on police morale, and exposing some of the popular myths surrounding cases like Michael Brown and the Breonna Taylor shooting. In this clip Brandon talks about the decision making process that cops have to go through in a mere second or two while their actions are analyzed with a microscope by the media and lawyers after the fact. He wishes that these people were more knowledgeable on deadly force training and what it was like to make life or death decisions in real time. Brandon also discusses the real world impact of lessening police funding. Morale in police departments is at an all time low and many have pulled back on proactive policing which is one of the most effective ways of preventing crime. Additionally you are seeing more officers retire early and police unions struggle to bring in new officers. All of this is leading to a major crime spike in major cities across America.
