YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThis week I've been talking to Anna Loutfi, she's a practising employment, equality and human rights barrister. But don't let that fool you! Anna has turned her brilliant mind to researching the history of European legal codification and its compatibility (or otherwise) with English common law. Together we discuss the remarkable and largely unknown text of Jeremy Bentham, "Annarchical Fallacies", which I came across just a few months ago and which provides a remarkable critique of human rights law. Bentham was writing during the French Revolution, but his words are absolutely prophetic about the consequences of Britain's own human rights revolution inaugurated by Tony Blair.
