Giséle Pelicot was married to a man named Dominique Pelicot for 50 years. They had three children and seven grandchildren and lived what seemed to be an idyllic family life. Under the surface, Dominique Pelicot was perpetrating the unthinkable against the woman he had taken a vow to love and protect. It is alleged that Giséle's husband for a period of ten years was drugging Giséle's food and drinks and inviting strangers into his home to sexually assault his wife while she lay in bed incapacitated, incapable of consenting. Her despicable husband recorded and took photos of these acts, 20,000 of them on his phone.

Her husband was eventually caught filming another woman illegally and his terrible secrets regarding his wife were revealed. He and over 50 other men are now standing trial in France.
