Received this great question on Snapchat (my username: devinmnash). "Being a University student atm, what I wonder about is, what is the best way to "self advertise" myself now that I'm "fresh on the market" and looking for internships and jobs. So how can I improve my self advertising and/or present myself better? Thanks!" In this video response I cover a few of the ways you can effectively self-advertise by utilizing the following categories:
1) Your Brand and Social Presence
2) Creating Portfolios as Examples of Past Work (projects if you don't have past work experience)
3) Seeking a Mentor in the Space
Differentiating yourself from the rest of the college crowd is critical. By considering a few things most people don't when they start looking for jobs you can give yourself an insane advantage.
