The most successful people I know are always challenging their assumptions. How much of what you believe is really the case? Have you built your model of the world on what others tell you? Have you accepted a way of feeling or being? I came to realize when I was fasting that there were a lot of untested assumptions I was making on my life. A lot of states of suffering that I thought would be unbearable. I didn't realize how strong I was, and how good I've got it. States of discomfort teach us that we're stronger than we think. When we overcome something we thought we couldn't, we're left asking: "Was this really what I feared so much?"
