This video covers the recent NICKMERCs vs Nadeshot situation with 100 Thieves equity.
Nadeshot allegedly promised NICKMERCs 5% of 100 Thieves in equity early in the companies start. After several investment rounds, Nadeshot supposedly took back that offer in favor of a renegotiated equity agreement that offered less original equity. Rather than take it, NICKMERCs refused and announced he was joining FaZe Clan today.
I wanted to break down the whole situation and give both positions. We see again and again in esports that "verbal agreements" come back to bite people that do them. Nadeshot was definitely in the wrong if he offered a verbal agreement and didn't go through with it. But I also wanted to expand on what Nadeshot's thinking might have been and what changes when you take on investment.
