This topic of Twitch exclusivity is something I've wanted to cover for a long time. The issue of Twitch exclusivity effects every partner and affiliate on the platform, and keeps people from multi-streaming or representing their brand in the livemedia space anywhere else besides Twitch. This right to exclusivity is baked into the Twitch partner contracts. It isn't something they pay you for by default.
Because of this, streamers are losing a lot of value by only being able to broadcast on Twitch. Simultaneously they're locking their brand into a single platform which they are in danger of losing it from because of Twitch bans or Twitch enforcement on their accounts.
Becoming a Twitch affiliate is the first step in becoming a Twitch partner. But once you sign the Twitch Contract you are stuck on their game streaming service. Twitch includes Exclusivity contracts in every twitch streamer partnership.
In this video I give advice for new twitch streamers, and how influencer marketing is different on twitch vs other streaming services. Twitch Exclusivity hurts streamers and could potentially hurt live streaming on a whole.
