Microsoft has announced one of the largest changes to come to the livestreaming space in 2020 - the end of Mixer as a platform. Mixer will shutdown on July 22nd and all streamers are being offered the optional chance to move to Facebook Gaming. Partners and Affiliates will be offered $2500 as a signing bonus to move to Mixer, and are fasttracked into Facebook Gaming's livestreaming partner program.
In this video I want to cover the market implications of Mixer's shutdown. I also want to cover what Mixer broadcasters should do and what their next best course of action is. I feel bad for Mixer streamers and wanted this up fast as a resource for what Mixer broadcasters should do. I will also post on Twitter about it.
In short, Mixer broadcasters that intend to move to Facebook Gaming should begin telling their audiences immediately where to find them - and split their time between both streams, Mixer and Facebook. Every Mixer stream should be a call to action to a Facebook stream. If you do not intend to move I recommend multi-streaming across Facebook and Youtube and to remember Facebook contracts as far as we know are NOT exclusive. This gives you a huge diversification advantage.
