Probably one of the craziest stories I've ever covered - this video talks about how Twitch keeps a public record of VODs, highlights, and clips on server accessible to others. We first figured this out when we tried to understand why streamers were getting banned for DMCA on Twitch after deleting clips. This is a real weird situation and it was reported by tons of streamers this was happening. Streamers like MoonMoon, Mizkif, and Syndicate tweeted about it.
We learned that Twitch keeps copies of clips and VODs on public servers which the music industry is crawling in order to issue these DMCAs. We learned absolutely crazy stuff after that, including that banned streamers can be found on Twitch servers, and we can pull VODs and clips from deleted content , even content in violation of Twitch's TOS and community guidelines.
