Key Holdouts: Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) have already publicly announced that they will vote against Blanche.
Because of this delicate arithmetic, Cassidy was positioned as one of the final holdouts capable of creating a major roadblock for the White House. By choosing to fall in line, Cassidy has cleared a much smoother path to confirmation for Blanche, handing the Trump administration a major personnel victory as it seeks to solidify its leadership at the Justice Department.
