Will I stand before God as one who lived in His grace — striving to love, obey, and walk according to His commandments — or as one who dismissed His law as outdated and burdensome? “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Ps 14:1), yet the wise recognize that every commandment is an act of divine love meant to guide us toward eternal life.
The world often mocks God’s wisdom, preferring self-made rules and fleeting pleasures. But as Fr. Mark reminds us, that path leads only to emptiness. True peace — the kind that endures into eternity — flows from living in a state of grace. The Holy Spirit, received in Baptism and strengthened in Confirmation, grants us the gift of wisdom to see reality as God sees it: to discern truth, to love rightly, and to walk the narrow road that leads to Heaven.
Let us pray daily for this wisdom: “Lord, grant me the Spirit of wisdom, that I may live rightly, wisely, and peacefully — so that when I stand before You, I may do so in hope.”
