Father Chris Alar, MIC answers a question many still ask: why did Jesus ascend, and how could He say it was good for Him to go? Father Chris explains that Christ did not abandon us — He remained with us in the most intimate way possible through the Eucharist. This Sacrament is not merely symbolic, but the real and abiding presence of Jesus, fulfilling His promise to remain with us until the end of time.

Father Chris further reveals that the Ascension was necessary so that the Holy Spirit could be sent. This is the great gift: the Spirit teaches, guides, and completes our union with the Father and the Son. What may seem like a departure is actually a deeper presence — Christ within us through grace, the Eucharist, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
