Alsina admitted that he wanted to join the Cash Money crew because they were from New Orleans and gave him a lot of inspiration to make it out through music. However, after four different meetings with Baby and Slim, it became clear that their priorities were elsewhere, and he simply couldn't wait around for them any further.
When 21-year-old Alsina did sign his deal with Def Jam, there were no hard feelings, and Baby even hopped on a remix to "I Luv This Sh*t."
