2:30Now PlayingVancouverbased rap group Swollen Members speak about their upcoming album, "Brand New Day" (June 17), which you can preorder now here
When asked about hopes for breaking through in American mainstream music, group member Madchild says that they're not interested in chasing after U.S. success. He adds that they are successful in the lane they're in right now and don't want to venture outside of that.
Adding on the conversation, Madchild says that the group is interested in making "real art," instead of being motivated by business purposes. He says that while he enjoys listening to Drake and other mainstream music, he doesn't feel comfortable dressing like a younger person just to be popular.
