6:43Now PlayingCharlamagne tha God says that he was happy when he didn't know who Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was during the mega druglord's arrest earlier this year. The South Carolina native, who you can check out on MTV2's "Guy Code," airing Wednesdays at 11PM, explains that being unaware of Guzman's identity showed how far he had distanced himself from the drug world.
The "Charlamagne & Friends" host also opens up about his past life as a crack dealer, recalling that while he was never big-time, he did sell drugs at one point.
When asked about his worst experience, Charlamagne says that he once started hallucinating while smoking weed and became convinced that the police were coming. After his friends calmed him down, The Breakfast Club host says the next thing he knew, police were rolling up the driveway in a van. He and his buddies ran out the back door in fear, and it was after that moment when Charlamagne knew he never wanted anything to do with the drug life again.
