5:56Now PlayingDNA sat down with VladTV Battle Rap Journalist Michael Hughes to share his opinions on the upcoming Total Slaughter battle event on Saturday, July 12th.
DNA does agree with the notion that a huge company such as Shady Records coming into Battle Rap can issue a sense of urgency to Smack/URL and other preexisting leagues to not fall off of their game and risk getting overshadowed by bigger corporations. However, DNA also strongly believes that Total Slaughter is beneficial for the overall growth of the Battle Rap culture, and he thinks Smack/URL should be incorporated with either the show or the battle event in some way considering they paved the way for Total Slaughter to even get involved with Battle Rap in the first place.
DNA then spoke specifically about Hollow Da Don vs. Joe Budden, and how he doesn't think that Joe will rely on Shady Records to pull strings and influence the battle in his favor. Joe Budden's genuine interest in Battle Rap has DNA convinced that he really wants to win this battle fair and square, but at the same time DNA didn't rule out the possibility of Slaughterhouse helping him with some bars.
