2:42Now PlayingBilly Danze of rap duo M.O.P. sat down with VladTV to discuss the group's upcoming projects, why they might just go the indie route, and his love of Hip-Hop from its beginnings in the Bronx to today.
Danze reveals that the group's new body of work will be titled "Street Certified" and will be executive produced by the legendary DJ Premier. It's set to drop as an EP on Halloween, and will set the group up for the full-length M.O.P./ Premo project to follow. The project will most likely be released independently; however, the group has been approached for joint ventures.
When it comes to the classic Hip-Hop artists that MOP came up on, or even their contemporaries, Danze knows that most of them feel that Hip-Hop has lost its way. He does, however, embrace the new sound of the culture, knowing that those who originated it in the Bronx didn't intend for it to stay there forever.
