as posted by the channelA 92yearold man from Wisconsin caused a commotion last week when he struck a number of vehicles while leaving a Piggly Wiggly, the New York Daily News reports.
Police believe Russell Kerr panicked when he was trying to leave the parking lot when he slammed on the gas and lost control of his minivan. After striking one car, Kerr reverses and hits another and continues to pinball through the parking lot, hitting a total of nine cars.
Kerr, as seen on the store's surveillance cameras hit a red truck whose driver was an off duty firefighter. The driver hopped out of his car and helped Kerr stop his vehicle. Four out of the nine cars had to be towed and Kerr didn't face any charges.
Chief Christopher MacNeill of Maryville says Kerr won't get away with the damages but didn't cite him because there was no criminal intent. "When you look at the video, the first thought would be it's a road-rage event or a guy trying to elude police," he said. "The fact of the matter is the guy kind of panicked and lost control of his vehicle."
