YouTube Description
as posted by the channelRecently, Mowii and Bounce of The Rej3ctz stopped by VladTV where they spoke openly about helping to usher in Cali's New West party sound and the difficulty of sharing socially conscious music.
When speaking on the group's innovative sound, Bounce explains, "You can even ask the popping artists in L.A., they came to us, back in the day for help." He continues in further detail on how the New West's "party" sound was influenced by Bay area legends, E-40 and Too $hort.
Mowii then offers his personal insight on what challenges left-coast MCs face when focusing on socially conscious material. Focusing on the industry and people's perspective, Mowii shares, "I think it's more difficult right now to get that across, because people have been through so much turmoil and depression that they just want to have fun."
