There's a lot more than what you see on the surface when it comes to Mixed Martial Arts fighter Jessica Eye. Raised by an abusive father, she began her profession at 19 once she decided that she "wasn't scared of what an 135 lb woman could do" to her since she grew up getting into altercations with her 240 lb patriarch. Fastforward some years later and now she is 112, conditioning for her next fight against MMA's Miesha Tate in their upcoming match scheduled for July 25.

It's been over ten years now since Jessica began her MMA career, and though she has proven her strength on various occasions, she prefers to not fight men even if she was given the opportunity. "These are the ethics behind sports: males go against males and females go against females," said Jessica. "That's just the way it is." She also mentioned that transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox should stick to fighting her original gender as well, citing that "it's not fair" because "she spent 20+ years as a man and over the last 10 years, while she was still fighting [as a man] she was taking estrogen shots" which means she still has some testosterone in her body. "That's why she's only licensed to fight in certain states," she adds.

Press play to hear more about her stance on transgender fighters and her "very interesting childhood" above.
