0:48Now PlayingFlorida officer Jay Raulerson was forced to use a taser on Steven Lawrence Blackley after the man exhibited "erratic behavior" after running out of his vehicle and charging at the officer.
Dashcam footage of the incident shows the officer telling dispatchers that he was responding to the scene after getting calls about a man running across the highway in a bid to stop traffic on Tuesday (Aug. 4) morning. When Raulerson arrived on the scene Blackley immediately jumped out of the vehicle and began yelling about turning off the officer's lights.
A report filed by Raulerson revealed, "It became necessary to use force to prevent Mr. Blackley form (sic) injuring myself or himself by re-entering traffic."
Mr. Blackley was taken to a hospital to be evaluated following the incident, and no charges were filed against him.
