8:38Now PlayingFamed Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson shared his thoughts on various media personalities, including RavenSymone and Don Lemon's controversial comments about race.
When asked specifically about CNN anchor Don Lemon, McKesson told VladTV that while he believes that the famed media personality has a "nuanced" view of the Black Lives Matter movement, he added that Lemon comes off as "disconnected." DeRay explained that he understands people's frustrations with Lemon, a black man, not reporting "a little bit deeper" on racial issues.
Another topic that was brought up during the interview was T.I.'s recent criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement, and DeRay told us that he understands that the movement isn't going to be championed by everyone. He also touched on the rapper's criticism of people being activists on social media for likes, and while DeRay understands T.I.'s point, he does applaud the way social media brings awareness to certain issues.
At the end of the conversation DeRay spoke about Raven-Symone's recent controversial comments about racial issues, which the activist believes comes off as the actress being "deeply uninformed." He also added that he's surprised that Symone still is on The View after some of the things she's said, which you can hear more about in the above clip.
