The Brand Nubian rapper believes that the couple's personal troubles being broadcast in the media is "detrimental" for the sake of Black families. He explained, "One of the strongest things we can do is come together and have children...and work together as a cohesive family unit."
Moving along, Lord Jamar also explained why he believes that welfare promotes single mothers and the "destabilization of family," because single mothers get more benefits from the government. During the conversation Jamar added that he believes mothers can't fill the father role for their children, and vice versa for men filling the mother role.
