After Gucci Mane's release from prison, the rapper has surprised fans with his new and improved physique with his raps sounding clearer and ready for an official mixtape or album release. While rappers like Young Thug and Drake make their way to Gucci's home—to presumably work on a top secret collaboration—now would be the time where Gucci could finally be a contender as a lyricist and not just the "boogeyman" of Hip-Hop. In this interview with Charlamagne, he discusses how people often look past Gucci's pen skills saying, "Gucci [is] dope, and Gucci don't get enough credit for being a lyricist."

In addition to his lyrical content, the radio personality explains how he has had a great streak for acknowledging new talent such as, Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Migos, and Waka Flocka. Aside from pointing out the pros of Gucci, Charlamagne also points out the rapper's "level of crazy" and other artists who also hold the same title.
