In this clip, Chuck D discussed the social landscape today in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and the demonstrations that swept the world in response. Chuck pointed out how this current generation is focused on their material needs as opposed to performative gestures. He also detailed how the United States has a poor global reputation and it's due, in part, to the American exceptionalism myth.
Chuck D went on to speak about his book 'This Day in Rap and Hip-Hop History' which he gifted a copy to Vlad and said it's a source for hip-hop heads. Chuck D said in the same way rock fans pour over the history of the genre, he wanted to provide something similar within the hip-hop space for fans.
