In this clip, Akon discussed moving back to the U.S. when he was 7 years old and traced his way through the midwest until his high school days in Jersey City. Akon recounted how his parents left him and his brother to live alone in Jersey while his dad took a job in Atlanta. He said during that time he developed a closer bond with the Puerto Ricans in Jersey than he did with his black counterparts. Akon said he was always made fun of for being dark and would get into a lot of fights as a result.
