Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins explained selling 982 of his songs to Hipgnosis. The producer complimented the company's founder and CEO Merck Mercuriadis for treating songs with a different type of respect. He acknowledged that people and companies have always bought music catalogs but he said Hipgnosis is the first "non-major to come with this type of intensity."

Darkchild added that other major producers, such as RZA, Timbaland, No I.D., and Tricky Stewart have also sold their catalogs to the company. He also referred to Hipgnosis as a good investment because the company's management staff and catalog, which includes records from Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Justin Bieber.
