DJ Akademiks on Spotify Deal, Nicki Minaj, Freddie Gibbs, Migos, Joe Budden (Full Interview)

DJ Akademiks came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started off speaking about why he became a DJ and what led him to becoming a media personality. During the conversation, DJ Akademiks also touched his friendship with DJ Vlad and how he was inspired by VladTV early in his career, which led to Vlad speaking about the growth of VladTV. From there, Akademiks started to tell his life story, including being born in Jamaica and later moving to the U.S. with his mother. He also spoke about doing college radio, seeing YouTube as a new platform, and creating his “War in Chiraq” channel as the Drill scene in Chicago was heating up. After getting recognition on YouTube and social media, more opportunities started to arise, and Akademiks was later offered a spot as a host on Complex’s “Everyday Struggle.” This led to Akademiks speaking about tensions arising on the show, including the now-infamous interaction between Joe Budden and Migos.
