In this clip, Taylor Bennett talked about his early musical influences around the house and specifically how much of an influence Twista was on him. Taylor revealed that “Ticking Time Bomb” was the song that made him take music seriously because it showed him how music possessed the power to inspire people.
Later, he detailed having a talk with his father about making music and the pressures of not sounding like his older brother, who by then had already established himself as an artist. He then discussed the historical roots of sampling in hip-hop and why it’s largely antithetical to the intent of the original songs. Taylor also spoke on how getting in shape changed how he viewed jewelry.
