In this clip, J. Alexander Martin spoke about “The For Us By Us Network,” which launches in September 15 with “The Side Chicks of Charlotte.” Martin explained that “everyone has a side chick,” and he wanted to give those women a voice. He also spoke about other shows he has in the works, including a movie called “Hoe Phase,” which he says is about 3 generations of women who all get pregnant at 16. Martin went on to reveal he has a cooking show with NBA legend Charles Oakley, and he also spoke about working with Boosie on his unreleased reality show.
From there, Martin weighed in on Kanye West’s latest beef with Adidas and Gap over Yeezy designs. According to J. Alexander, unless Ye has trademarked his designs then there isn’t much he can say or do about what Adidas or Gap has created. He also talked about Kanye’s place in contemporary fashion and how some of the urban fashion brands of the ‘90s have managed to revamp themselves for overseas markets.
