1:13:29Now PlayingIn this full-length interview, legendary NYC rapper Fredro Starr talks about attending a recent concert by Wu-Tang Clan and Nas in their home city before sharing his thoughts on the 'Golden Era' of hip-hop. This prompts a discussion about DJ Akademiks’s incendiary comments about hip-hop pioneers. Fredro said that Akademiks triggered hip-hop with his remarks, but it’s to be expected from someone who talks for a living. He also said that Akademiks should remove the 'DJ' from his stage name.
Moving along, Fredro Starr gave his take on the Cardi B and JT beef and how female rappers from his era mostly got along. Piggy-backing off the Cardi and JT beef, which involved accusations of ghostwritten lyrics, Fredro spoke about the prevalence of ghostwriters in hip-hop since the culture’s inception. As the interview continues, Fredro Starr reacts to the death of PnB Rock before stating some of the regrets he has about his group, Onyx, using so much violent content in their subject matter with songs like "Throw Ya Gunz" during their heyday. He also shares his thoughts on the beef between Lil Durk and NBA YoungBoy.
