In this clip, Shawn Prez started out asking Katie Got Bands about being disciplined and cutting people off, and she explained that she’s grown and learned from her past. She also spoke about taking accountability for things she’s done, and Katie pointed out that you can outgrow friends and family. From there, Katie spoke about Nicki Minaj reaching out to do the “Freaky Girl” remix, and she explained that she’s been building a relationship with Nicki for a while. Katie then spoke about setting herself apart from other people because she doesn’t compare herself to others.
When asked about being addicted to Percocet, Katie explained that she started taking them because of her anxiety. She added that she stopped because she thought that others around her looked like “young crackheads,” and Katie added that people turned their back on her when she cried out for help. From there, Katie thought about being a voice in the community for change, and she went on to speak about why female rappers tend to beef with one another. Katie then pointed to the success of Nicki’s remix featuring five female rappers that were able to work together and go #1. Lastly, Shawn asked Katie if she’d ever consider collaborating with Asian Doll, and she stated, “Anything is possible.” To hear more, including Katie revealing projects in the work, hit the above clip.
