In this clip, Yung Joc started off reacting to DJ Akademiks telling Vlad that the new rappers are signing the same bad deals as the older rappers. Yung Joc explained that labels give artists a “loan” with their deals, and he added that once the loan is paid back, they don’t own their publishing or masters. Yung Joc added that deals will change your life and image, but he added that when it comes to creating generational wealth, label deals won’t do that. He also explained that some artists are signed under 4 contracts, and Joc added that the only way to not sign a bad deal is to sign yourself.
