In this clip, Vlad started off speaking about “Tracks of My Tears,” which was inducted into the Grammy Hall-of-Fame, and Smokey reacted to Rolling Stone calling it the greatest song in Motown history. Smokey then spoke about producing for Marvin Gaye, starting with “I’ll Be Doggone” and “Ain’t That Peculiar.” When asked if he saw Marvin’s greatness early on, Smokey said that he had the potential to become good enough. Smokey then added that Marvin is one of the greatest singers he’s ever heard.
