--------
In this clip, Angie Stone reflects back on her first marriage with the father of her first child, a fellow musician by the name of Lil Rodney Cee. She explains that the reason why got married is because she didn't want to have their daughter out of wedlock. She then shares what she learned from Lil Rodney Cee about the music business before declaring that their former music group became the first hip-hop artists to perform at The Roxy in NYC. This prompts a discussion about her legacy and place in rap as a pioneer who helped open the door for legends in the game such as music executive Andre Harrell. Moving along, Angie looked back on the events that led to her and D'Angelo falling in love with one another back in the 90s. She then details how the relationship between the fellow soul singers deteriorated once D'Angelo became a sex symbol, despite the fact that she co-write some of his best music.
