This prompts Shawn Prez to inform Angie that she lost the second most amount of weight in the history of the show. From there, Angie explains the decision by her choice leave Clive Davis and Arista Records. Moving along, Angie talks about getting helping D'Angelo a record deal with J Records after he got dropped from Virgin Records. As the discussion continues, Angie talks about the role she played in introducing Erykah Badu to the world before revealing that she was responsible for D'Angelo's signature cornrows.
Elsewhere in the clip, Angie Stone talked about her friendship with the late Betty Wright whom she considered to be something more akin to a sister. She recalled their collaboration “Baby” getting nominated for a Grammy back in 2007 and why she didn’t end up going to the ceremony despite Betty urging her too.
