In this clip, Vlad started off speaking to Neil deGrasse Tyson about taking astronomy classes at 12 after his teacher introduced him to outside courses. Neil explained that his love for astronomy began at 9 after visiting the Hayden Planetarium in New York, where he said he was literally “star struck.” Neil and Vlad then had a conversation about how light pollution that obstructs the view of the stars is a relatively new thing. Moving along, Vlad asked Neil about famed astronomer Carl Sagan getting his college application when he applied to Cornell. Neil then spoke about Carl being famous when he got the letter from Sagan asking him to tour Cornell, and Neil explained why he instead decided to go to Harvard.
