In this clip, Ne-Yo revealed his disillusionment with the music industry. He admitted that there were moments when he felt like quitting singing. His disillusionment arose from his initial perception of the music industry as a "hard works pays off" field which he later found out to be quite different. He found out that it was more about who you knew, who bought awards and magazine covers, what you paid for and behind-the-door deals, rather than talent, hard work, and great music. He also mentioned the pressure of producing a successful sophomore album after his debut performed well. Ne-Yo revealed that the advent of those pressures led to a necessary step back and rekindling of his passion for the craft, alongside a redefinition of his reasons for being in the industry. He also stated he did not join the music industry for the fame and money, but because it was something he loved doing.
