1:22:23Now PlayingFormer NFL player Travis Rudolph spoke on his past and career. He recounted his upbringing in a non-violent neighborhood in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he excelled in high school and college football. He spoke of his recruitment process and decision to attend Florida State University, where he flourished on the field. However, his decision to leave school early and go pro was influenced greatly by his father, who encouraged him to rely on his skills. Rudolph also recalled the tragic death of his father, shot accidentally while working maintenance at a club, an event that led him to arm himself for protection. His early departure from college ended disappointingly as he failed to be drafted to the NFL as expected. Rudolph also details being recently acquitted of murder charges.
