In this clip, Alan Dershowitz discussed defending Jeffrey Epstein in his 2008 case, where he was charged with four counts of unlawful sex with minors and one count of sexual abuse. Initially reluctant to take the case due to a personal relationship, the lawyer eventually agreed to assemble a legal team. Despite negotiating what he thought to be a favorable deal, the client believed he could have gotten a better one and terminated their professional relationship. Critics have accused Alan of waging a 'scorched earth' strategy against the alleged victims, a claim he denies but admits they would have been vigorously cross-examined. He felt it was his job to get the best deal possible for his client. After Epstein pleaded guilty, the lawyer distanced himself socially from him.
