Common Tribe spoke about his journey from dealing drugs on street corners to making it big in the music industry. He described growing up in troubled youth facilities, cultivating an early love for music. He became known in his community for recording music in makeshift studios "trap houses." He listened to all genres of music, shaping his unique style as an R&B singer and rapper. However, despite gaining attention and success, he felt the longing for more. After his business had to shut down due to COVID, Common Tribe was left homeless with his family. They lived in a converted school bus where he continued making music and subsequently went viral online. He let go of his manager after a series of failed deals and eventually got the opportunity to work with Boosie after overcoming some initial resistance and controversy.
