In this clip about the close-knit drug and counterfeiting world in San Jose, John "Boxer" Mendoza detailed how, as a street-savvy commander of underground operations, he readily adapted to the changing criminal landscape. After his parole in 2004, he joined the drug trafficking business and proved adept at mobilizing resources, forming a crew of 20 members, and partnering with the Gulf Cartel to distribute approximately 60 pounds of meth a month. Concurrently, he masterminded a vast counterfeiting operation that used sophisticated techniques to counterfeit money, which included the use of Bible paper due to its perfect texture and color. His technique was so refined that the counterfeit money could pass the pen test as it printed on real money paper. The operations, however, became more challenging as authorities stepped up measures to stem counterfeiting and drug trafficking.
