Lyor Cohen on How City of Hope Prevents and Treats Cancer, How to Live Longer (Full Interview)

Music executive Lyor Cohen was joined by several members of City of Hope, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, about their groundbreaking approaches for cancer treatments and early detection. City of Hope focuses on clinical trials and translational research, aiming to develop innovative treatments based on basic scientific discoveries. Vlad's guests included cancer survivor and board member of City of Hope, Jonathan Azu, who underwent treatment at City of Hope, as well as Dr. Tanya Dorff, who emphasized the importance of getting cancer screenings, which allow for cancer to be detected early when it is most curable. Lyor Cohen shared his dedication to increasing awareness about early detection, especially in traditionally disadvantaged communities with higher cancer rates. He also highlighted the significant impact of cancer on the music industry. Dr. Dorff explained that while chemotherapy is still used, other less toxic treatments are being developed, including targeted therapies and immunotherapy, with City of Hope at the forefront of these medical advancements.
