Additionally, he spoke about his father, Robert F. Kennedy Sr., and his daring war against organized crime, which he began even before JFK appointed him as U.S. Attorney General. Despite warnings from Democrats about the risk of alienating unions, his father pursued his beliefs that the mafia's infiltration of several institutions, including labor unions, the judiciary, and congress, represented a grave threat to American democracy.
