Valee discussed his upbringing in dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago before moving around other areas of the south side. Valee spoke passionately about his love of music, which was heavily influenced by his mother's taste, preferring female powerhouses like Whitney Houston and Sade. Valee also reminisced about his time as a teenager, listening to Cash Money and the Big Timers and how he was initially planning on buying a PlayStation or Xbox but instead came home with recording equipment. He said he initially began playing music out of boredom, but eventually, his hobby turned into a professional pursuit. Valee also revealed his side profession as a self-taught auto mechanic and how he used to customize cars in his mother's garage out of necessity, as he was unsatisfied with the jobs others did when he wanted his own car customized.
