He reported that there was no confrontation or armed robbery; the perpetrator simply grabbed his chain and ran away. Despite media reports of a scuffle, Sebastian insisted it was a solo incident. The problematic event apparently cross-fired with a subsequent shooting involving Fabolous. This sparked rumors that the theft was an initiation of the shooting, turning the event into a much bigger issue. Sebastian resented these rumors, considering himself a victim in the situation. However, he noted how the media-related involvement, coupled with his connection to the NBA, made it an easy sell for the press.
