--------
T.K. Kirkland spoke candidly about his past feuds in the industry, mainly his issue with fellow comedian Michael Blackson and manager Chris Smith of CAA. Kirkland, an independent promoter, claimed Smith often tried to manipulate promoters into using agency-associated comedians instead of independent talent, including Kirkland himself. He felt this was unfair and stood up to such attempts. In recent years, Kirkland started hosting his own shows, using only his own material to prevent redundancy and maintain uniqueness in his performances. He mentioned trying to prove to others how much he made, including Blackson, who, he claims, laughed at him. However, he ultimately decided it was not worth it to try to prove anything to anyone and to let people think what they wanted.
