Aries Spears shared his thoughts on the controversy stirred up by Boosie, who walked out of a showing of 'Color Purple' due to a gay scene. Spears said he was not surprised by either the response, or Boosie's actions. Spears also discussed society's shifting sensitivity towards gay imagery, admitting that even he feels uncomfortable with certain representations. While he emphasized the right to feel how one wants to feel, as long as it doesn't promote violence or infringe on the rights of others, Spears stated, "Everybody's not comfortable with everything just because society says you should be." He also revealed that he finds certain actions by Lil Nas X, known for his provocative take on gay imagery, discomforting. By underscoring the right to personal feelings, he cautioned against labeling discomfort towards gay imagery automatically as homophobia.
