Trick Daddy talked about life growing up in Miami during the reign of the 'D boys.' He described how they encouraged academic success by giving kids money for good report cards, as well as their participation in local sports. Trick Daddy also acknowledged the darker side of this environment, stating that if someone got shot in his car, they were a victim of his crime. He lamented the lack of rules that used to protect women and children from violence and criticized the modern child protective system which he believes criminalizes parents who discipline their children. He recounted personal childhood experiences, including the time he had to live with his father after being caught with drugs in school, fearing his mother would lose her house.
