--------
Antonio Brown, former Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver, discussed his reaction to comments made by Steelers’ general manager Kevin Colbert. Colbert described the team as ‘Big Ben and 52 kids’, referring to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s leadership role within the franchise. Brown stated that he didn't interpret this as a racist statement, but rather, contextualized it to Roethlisberger's seniority and the rookie nature of most team members. Brown also admitted his dissatisfaction with the Steelers' direction led him to request a trade. In addition, Brown felt undermined when a younger receiver was awarded the MVP over him, despite his strong performance. He took issue with a culture he perceived as setting receivers against one another. The cumulative effect of these incidents led to Brown's decision to request a trade, believing it was the best resolution for his career.
